Pathmark - Watercolourby ~betherfly

Traditional Art / Paintings / Fantasy

Sketch on Bienfang 50 lb. paper, after a model from my Virtual Poser.

Watercolour on Aqvarelle Arches hot pressed cotton watercolour block. (which is amazing and worth 2$ each sheet in my opinion because it takes colour soooooo well. Mmmm.)

I thought it'd be neat to upload these together. The proportions changed between the sketch and final piece, and became less EQ like but oh well.

The watercolour should be up at River Twine soonish. This was inspired by a sort of RP of a Taal game, Pathmark was hiding in the tall grass for a while and I got the idea that he'd blend in very very well, especially if there were a few green plants and red flowers in among the grasses too. I was going to add some but then decided that would be too busy.

I really, really like this pic. The colors are perfectly chosen and the proportions of his body are just right. Your style is so soft and .. dunno how to put it ... even fragile (?). Your elves always stirr a remembrance of a childrens book or a fairy tale book I once had, but I cannot put a finger on it.
